Tyler

First show of 2005: Tyler attended a hunter/jumper show in Healdsburg April 24. With only 2 schooling rides in the previous month he won a 2'3" jumper class and placed 2nd in 2'6" jumpers. He was the only pony in classes of 10 horses, mostly Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods, pretty stiff competition!

This pony continues to amaze me. I would like to see him in an appropriate home where his jumping talent will be appreciated.

Pictures below taken at the Shoreline Riders Show in Fort Bragg 5/16/04.
Tyler showed all day in both English and Western classes and placed well in 10 out of 12 classes.
He came home with 2 first place ribbons, 2 seconds, 3 thirds, 2 fourths, 1 fifth and to top it off,
Reserve Champion in the adult English division. Not bad for one day!

We were especially proud of Tyler's second place in
Western Pleasure as it really demonstrates how
versatile this boy is. I made a last minute decision to
enter the Western classes just a few days before the
show. I did a single tune-up Western ride with him 2
days before the show. Prior to that he had not been
ridden Western for over 2 months as we'd been
working on dressage and jumping 5 days a week.

In the first Western class, walk/jog Western Pleasure,
Tyler did not place and the judge commented to me
that he still looked like he was trying to do Hunter/Hack
(which he had just won). In the next class, open Western
Pleasure, he realized I was asking him to slow down and
relax and he did. He moved up to second place! He was
the only pony showing against a class of 7 very nice
Quarter Horses and Paints.

Tyler went to a dresssage show 5/22/04. He did training level test 1 and 2 and was calm and relaxed in the dressage show venue. He placed 3rd in test 1 with 60% and 4th in test 2 with 58.77%. We were very pleased with the results for a first time showing in dressage.

6/6/04 Another successful show day for Tyler, this time a hunter/jumper schooling show. He placed in all 5 classes entered and particularly excelled in the over fences classes. 5th in Hunter Under Saddle, 3rd in 2' Hunter Hack, 2nd in 18" over fences class, 1st in 2' over fences class, and 2nd in 2'3" over fences class. Jumped a clean round in every class, and did his job willingly and with style!

6/27/04 Tyler attended the second show in the Shoreline Riders series with continued success. He came home with ribbons in 11 classes (3 firsts including 2' Hunter over fences, 3 seconds, 1 third, and 4 fifths) and the champion English horse trophy pictured below.

7/25/04 Tyler put in another fine performance at a hunter/jumper show in Healdsburg, placing 3rd over a 2'3" course, and two seconds over 2'6" courses. His fourth and last class of the day was 2'9" jumpers and he was jumping a superb round until I went off course!

8/5/04 Tyler went to Oakridge Stables in Santa Rosa to school over their wonderful cross country course. Both Tyler and I thought this was a blast, our first time ever jumping big solid fences! He was completely confident over every jump we tried, large logs and some coops. Wow that was fun--I think we may have to take up eventing!
